VTAC HELP FOR VICTORIAN STUDENTS

Navigating the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) system can seem a little tricky, so we’ve put together our ultimate guide to VTAC for VCE students. You will also find a range of resources through the VTAC website, including the VTAC Year 12 Guide, with step by step instructions for researching and applying for tertiary courses.

AIT offers a range of higher education courses for creative students. You are not required to have an ATAR ranking, submit a portfolio, or sit an interview for entry into AIT.

We know that us creatives see the world differently, and our Bachelor Programs in 2D Animation, 3D Animation, Film and Game Design let you explore a world of possibilities to tell stories and create worlds.  Our Bachelor of Information Technology offer two areas of specialisation - Mobile App Development, or Games Programming. Your qualifications will be nationally recognised, but perhaps even more importantly, you will receive an education that gets you industry-ready. From day one you will start to work with the best industry tools, and to build a portfolio that showcases mastery of your craft. You will meet and receive feedback from industry professionals, and have the opportunity to complete an internship to help launch your career.

If you are interested in studying at AIT, and you haven’t registered and paid for a VTAC account yet, then you can apply to AIT directly. You’ll receive confirmation that you have been accepted to your chosen course sooner (before Year 12 results are released, depending on the timing of your application), and you won’t have to pay VTAC application fees. If you have already signed up for a VTAC account, then you can use this guide to help you navigate the system.

Scholarships

Every year, AIT awards talented students who demonstrate their extraordinary work ethic and talent when applying to study with us. There are a total of 6 Domestic scholarships awarded - 3 in Sydney and 3 in Melbourne.

Our graduates gain employment after study because they are great problem solvers.
Problems like: “what logo will create the best brand awareness?”, “what lighting will create the right mood in a scene,” “what shape will create a funny but pathetic monster the client wants?”, “what timing should be used to convey the emotion across?”, “how will virtual reality change this concept?”, or even, “what will be the best platform to build this app on?”

While you are at AIT, we will teach you these creative techniques and skills. We are looking to award scholarships to those already displaying a passion and focus. The task below is primarily designed to test your creative and problem-solving skills.

Applications for the next initiAIT Scholarship close on January 6, 2023!

AWARDING HE CREDIT

Credit may be awarded through the recognition of prior study, training and industry experience.

Recognition of prior learning (RPL) is the process whereby students are assessed on evidence of previous learning, employment, industry activities and talents. The evidence which must be authenticated (academic transcripts, subject outlines, references, awards) is mapped against subjects within the students chosen course of study at AIT. Where there is sufficient verifiable evidence that the student has comfortably attained all of the subjects learning outcomes they may be granted Credit for this subject.

Students may apply for Credit of up to 50% of their chosen course. Where they request credit for more than this, academic consent must be obtained from the General Manager, Academic Director or Compliance Manager.

An application fee of $100 (non-refundable) is required at the time of application.

Where a student is Granted Credit for a subject a Tuition fee of 30% is charged. Eligible students can include this in their FEE-HELP loan.
