Skills such as drawing, compositing, rigging, sculpting, character design, rendering and visual FX are widely sought after by creative media employers in Australia (Stephen 2021). And, with an increase of real-time projects run by local studios requiring virtual production, immersive experiences and visualisation, the prospects for skilled animators are growing (VFX Insight 2020).
Globally, the demand for animated overlays in commercials, retro motion graphics in marketing production and detailed, technical training in construction and medicine have provided opportunities for animators to practice their trade in other industries as well (Grand Review research 2021).
Data from the Australian Government’s Job Outlook service predicts strong future growth in animation and visualisation (Australian Government 2021).
